In 2023 we partnered with our friends at Sierra Nevada Adventures to offer a bespoke expedition into the remote corners of Nepal. Since then, more members of the SNA community have joined us to ride in the ultimate adventure motorcycling destination - the Great Himalayas.
For 2026 we’re doing it again with a special 8-day ride just for members of Sierra Nevada Adventures. This all-inclusive excursion is a riff on one of our most popular rides. It is a deep dive into the famous Lower Mustang region of the Himalayas. On our way there we’ll ride through the lush Sivalik Foothills to experience some of the most beautiful and rugged roads in the country. Our route will take us to the former kingdom of Tansen perched high on a hilltop where we will traverse some of Nepal’s famous suspension bridges. Some of them are nearly a half mile long and dangle 500 feet over deep gorges below.

Pokhara is best known as Nepal’s Adventure City. Situated on the shores of Fewa Lake and right under the soaring summit of Annapurna, it’s a beautiful and charming place to use as our start and end point.

Our home base in Kathmandu for the start and end of the trip is the Nomad Hotel, centrally located near many attractions and conveniences.

HOLIDAY CAMP - MUSTANG
Newly opened in 2023, this is a quaint and authentic mountain lodge right under the summit of Dhaulagiri, a 27,000 foot peak in the Himalayas.

HOTEL KARUNA - POKHARA
Located right in the lake district of Pokhara, the Hotel Karuna was recently remodelled and makes for a great stay in Nepal’s adventure city.

Riders on this trip will need good off-road riding skills and confidence in variable conditions which include loose surfaces, steep slopes, and all the fun conditions of a Nepali road. This is a true off-road adventure.

To ensure maximum enjoyment, riders should have good fitness to help with proper acclimatization to altitude (9,000 feet). These are active days and good base fitness is essential.

Riders must be 18 years of age, hold a valid motorcycle license, and ideally you should obtain an international drivers license, which is very cheap and easy to obtain online.
And again - prior off-road riding experience and confidence in mixed terrain is a must. -

Most travelers arrive on this day, typically in the morning hours allowing for time to rest or tackle the sights of Kathmandu.

After a quick 30 minute flight we begin our ride with a short exploration of the nearby roads and trails. We get our first views of the great Himalayas on this day.

Our first ride is all paved and one of the twistiest roads in the region. It takes us to the former hilltop kingdom of Palpa in the city of Tansen.

This day’s ride takes us on some of our favorite roads in Nepal, known to very few. By day’s end we tackle the famous suspension bridges Nepal is known for.

We don’t cover a lot of miles this day, but the views they take us to are spectacular. We end the day deep in the Mustang Valley amidst two of the world’s biggest mountains.

We travel high into the Himalayas to the Tibetan and Takali villages of Marpha, Jharkot, Jhong and Muktinath reaching a high point of 12,400 feet.

After a late morning start, we finish our big day of riding with a mellow return to Pokhara in time to relax and take in more sites.

Another short flight gets us back to Kathmandu with ample time to take in more sights of the city.

Most flights out of Nepal depart late in the day offering more time to shop, relax, and see more of Kathmandu.
