In 2014, professional journalist, Christophe Noel, traveled to Nepal as a guest of the Nepali government. Assigned to document the most remote cultures of the country, his first adventure and the stories he found, sparked ten years of passionate travels. His endless pursuit of Nepal’s most unique stories served as the foundation for Far Xplorer. That same drive to explore the most well preserved corners of Nepal is what drives all of our excursions.
Our first photo journal is a vibrant anthology of past travels and the people we encountered along the way. Every photo and narrative was collected from actual Far Xplorer trips with our guests right in the thick of the action. Many of the scenes captured are from places no foreign travelers had yet to reach. We were the first.
What’s in a name? Well, if you have traveled with us in the past, you know there is no destination too far flung. We will get there eventually provided we have sufficient supplies of — PETROL & TEA.

Our most anticipated release yet, Far Xplorer’s new photo journal is the result of a decade of remote travel in Nepal. Featuring more than 100 stunning images printed on heavy archival paper, each chapter includes short essays to set the scene. This first volume, Visions of Nepal, contains three chapters:
Devotee: From buddhist monks, and Hindu Sadhus, to the black magic shamans of the foothills, we explore the world of faith and belief in the many cultures of Nepal.
Strata: Starting in the lowlands we travel into the rugged foothills and high Himalayas to explore the infinite layers of Nepal and the many people who dwell there.
Bygone: Time is elusive in Nepal. In many rural areas little has changed in centuries. Other places are evolving rapidly forcing many cultures to adapt and face forever change.
The stories within illuminate the cultures and individuals that exist far beyond Nepal’s well worn tourist tracks. Most of the scenes within were shot on locations where foreign faces had yet to be seen, or if they had, rarely.
Custom printed in small batches to ensure the highest quality, this is a book that will provide years of use and reflection.
