Featuring more than 100 stunning images printed on heavy archival paper, each chapter includes short essays to set the scene. This first volume, Visions of Nepal, contains three chapters:
Devotee: From buddhist monks, and Hindu Sadhus, to the black magic shamans of the foothills, we explore the world of faith and belief in the many cultures of Nepal.
Strata: Starting in the lowlands we travel into the rugged foothills and high Himalayas to explore the infinite layers of Nepal and the many people who dwell there.
Bygone: Time is elusive in Nepal. In many rural areas little has changed in centuries. Other places are evolving rapidly forcing many cultures to adapt and face forever change.
The stories within illuminate the cultures and individuals that exist far beyond Nepal’s well worn tourist tracks. Most of the scenes within were shot on locations where foreign faces had yet to be seen, or if they had, rarely.
